EfN - The Dragon, Part 3 by *Ud-the-Imp:iconUd-the-Imp:

Elemental Abilities:  Dragon tribes are named after the element they primarily have mastery of.  The Dragon here belongs to the Wind Tribe, and thus has mastery of the element of wind.  The most basic abilities include conjuring wind and controlling air molecules themselves to create minor gusts of wind and require no energy consumption at all.  However, it does requires some concentration in order to control air when there is a barrier between the source and himself; for example, he can move objects that contain large amounts of air, such as gas tanks and the air inside another room.  The thicker the barrier, the more concentration is requires.  This Dragon’s limit is around 12” of thick metal, or 6 feet of hardened dirt.

The next step up is the ability to create various projectile attacks by collecting and condensing air in solid forms and then releasing it into the form of bullets and/or blades which can be powerful enough to punch and/or slice through solid steel.  The amount of energy required depends on how powerful the projectiles are, but this Dragon gone through enough training to be able to pull off an infinite amount of smaller blasts without using up any energy.

The next stage involves enveloping his body with pure wind energy in order to enhance his own physical capabilities, such as increasing his speed as stated before, as well increasing his strength and punches and kicks made in hand-to-hand combat.  This enhance can be transferred into other objects momentarily, mostly his sword for extra damage, or in the form of increasing someone else’s physical capabilities.  Again, the energy used is dependent on how long he enhances something and how much power he puts into it; the longer the enhancement lasts and the greater the output can drain his energy quite significantly.

The Dragon’s powers can also allow him to have access to other elements by adjusting the air around to become suitable enough.  He can condense the air around him and bring towards an intense source of heat and the air to burst into flames, compact to towards areas of intense cold to control ice, arrange air molecules close to electrical sources to control lightening, and skim the vapor off bodies of water to take control it.  This, however, requires INTENSE concentration despite it not using any energy at all and he rarely uses this ability, though the payoff is usually worth it.  The elements of Wood, Metal, and Earth is limited to merely blowing small particles of these elements (sand, metal flakes, saw dust, etc.) at the enemy.  His knowledge of light and dark is limited to knowing only a few spells that involve trapping malevolent beings that are possessing someone and suppressing parasitic magic (event or time activated spells that slowly kill off a victim, for example), but requires help in completely extracting said malevolent forces.

The most powerful of the Dragon’s elemental abilities is the actual control of the weather itself, including the creation of tornadoes and thunder storms.  He also HAS the ability to create wind force capable of leveling an entire city……….

Unfortunately, these powerful abilities almost COMPLETELY drain a dragon’s energy to the point of being fatal, and this dragon neither had the time nor need to use these extremely powerful maneuvers.

Yet…….

Personality:  The Wind Tribe is mostly a happy, carefree, and jovial tribe outside of battle, this dragon being no different.  A constant source of optimism that can be very infectious, though he is easily bored, with him having a higher chance of being distracted the more bored he is.  He is neither the type of person that can be easily angered (though annoying him is rather easy), and he rarely holds grudges.  If he does hold a grudge, the worst of it is the want to punch out or have arrested the source of the grudge.  He has NEVER met anyone he hated so much as to want dead.

Yet………

As stated before, very little will anger the Dragon.  If his friends are threatened and/or someone is being attacked or abused for no reason will usually get him angry.  For the latter it is far more subtle and contained:  Dragon procedure begins with asking the attacker the reason for it, and then asking them to stop.  If they do not, the dragon asks them to stop a second time with suggesting a less violent solution.  The last step in the procedure, which goes directly to if the attacker THEN attack the dragon, is to grieviously injure the attack while pointing out what they did to deserve it.  At this point, Wind Dragons RARELY resort to permanent injury nor fatalities.

For the situation that involves a friend being threatened, seeing them hurt or even killed will automatically trigger the “Righteous Fury.”  However, this situation has NEVER happened to THIS Dragon.

Yet….

In battle, the Dragon tends to act cocky, treating the fight like a game, mostly because the Wind tribe battles really ARE a game except when the battles start becoming serious.  If the Dragons begins to throw insults and acts to try to on purposely anger the opponent, this means that whom the Dragon is fighting may be too much for him and will try to rile up the opponent enough for them to make a mistake that he can exploit.  Though he has extensive martial arts knowledge, it is all instinctual, ingrained into genetic memory from tens of thousands of years of ancestors learning various skills, and has no real experience in battles before he began is expedition.

The Dragons are a race that is VERY much honor based, especially in the field of battle.  To them, there is no such thing as a fighting style that is considered “dirty,” but will strictly honor any other rules in a fight and would NEVER resort to cheat, both in and out of the battlefield.  They consider fighting a being who cannot defend themselves to be a great sin.  They consider protecting the innocent and defenseless to be separate from the battlefield, allowing them greater freedom in the choices to make.  The greatest sin for a Dragon to do and the greatest insult to one is to purposefully attack someone NOT INVOLVED IN THE ACTUAL FIGHT.  An opponent that does this will immediately trigger the “Righteous Fury,” though depending on the personalities on both the Dragon and the opponent the effect will last anywhere from a few second to days.

This Dragon has as much a great sense of honor and duty as any other dragons.  Luckily, he has never met an opponent yet that is willing to cheat to defeat him any way possible.

Yet…………

The wind tribe has been known to be very friendly individuals and willing to make bonds with new people whenever possible.  This Dragon is the same, willing to make friends wherever he goes to whom he knows are good.  However, he tends to talk for a very long time, often to the point of annoyance of those around him, but he is unaware of this problem.  He usually talks about how various pieces of culture, customs, races, and technology is similar or perfectly equal to others that are within the Republic, especially if he meets someone or sees something within that very moment, since the Dragons have encountered so many various civilizations that similarities are bound to occur.  Because of this he is VERY familiar with various technologies and customs, surprising people who would assume that he would not know (for example, this Dragon would know that an iPod is an advanced MP3 player, but not that it is CALLED an iPod).

If you are friends with a Dragon, that Dragon will and shall always be loyal to you.  This Dragon is the same, and he is very polite towards others beliefs and customs, and is very much insulted when others purposefully insults another purely on a single trait, such as race and religion.

If this Dragon meets someone his ability deems as evil but is outwardly nice and pleasant, he will play along and wait until the person does something.  To others this may seems like he is easily fooled and/or too trusting, is it in fact delaying an inevitable thrashing until the moment warrants it.

Strengths:  Super strength and speed, master of wind, enhance his own body with pure wind energy, knowledge of various forms of technology, customs, and people, fluent in all languages due to translation device, can control other elements, friendly, sociable, and caring, has an ability that allows him to judge the character of others almost perfectly, nearly indestructible, extensive knowledge of various martial arts, both armed and unarmed, flight, strong sense of honor, very loyal to friends

Weaknesses:  Requires extensive concentration and power to use more powerful wind abilities; requires extensive concentration to control other elements than his own and lacks abilities to control Earth, Metal, and Wood; weak against Fire and Thunder based magic and attacks; shield generators having finite protection limits and may require longer recharges the more damage received; himself has a limit to how damage he can take; cannot be reasoned with during the “Righteous Fury”; sense of honor prevents him from obtaining victory at times; easily bored and becomes increasingly easier to distract when bored; tends to annoy people with lots of talking at times; his ability is blocked and/or altered by strong amount of Holy and Demonic energies; unless very determined, will drop everything if he sees a bowl of lemons (he LOVES lemons)
